Bridget Murphy was the coordinator for the 2017 Labrador Creative Arts Festival. Bridget
accepted the coordinator’s position in September. The festival ran from November 15th to the 21st . It is a major undertaking.
“The students really relate to the visiting artists and the artists relate to the children. One of the goals of the Festival is for students to positively interact with professional artists; to share, create and experience a wide spectrum of art activities. The Festival is designed for the students. I’m thrilled when I’m greeted by youth that are all excited by the workshop they just attended. Or when I get an email from one of the teachers delighted with the workshop their students just participated in.”
This year was the 42nd consecutive year for the Festival. Which makes it the longest running children’s festival in North America. For more information on the Festival go to:
