DEBBIE GILL – O’Brien Arts Centre *Box Office Clerk*
We moved to HVGB in 1990 with the Air Force.
I was over-volunteered in Moose Jaw, so I took a year off and looked around to see what did I want to want to get involved in here. I started to volunteer with the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Arts Council, doing box office for touring shows and selling tickets at the door.
It wasn’t until 1999 that I joined Mokami Players and took a role in a play, and all the time I kept doing box office and taking tickets at the door as a volunteer for the Arts Council. When the O’Brien Arts Centre opened in 2009, I worked first as a volunteer, and then I was interviewed twice and hired to work here in the Box Office.
I absolutely love it – I never get up in the morning and feel like I don’t want to go to work. This is not a job; it’s a place I love to come to!
